How to enter the VR Awards:

Before submitting a nomination, check the relevant award criteria. On the next page, you will be asked to confirm your chosen categories and register your full details, a £149 + VAT entry fee per nomination will automatically be applied.

You can submit an unreleased product/service during the nomination period, providing it is released by the 1st July 2019. Projects must not have been released prior to 6th May 2018*. You’ll be able to save your nomination and come back to it at a later date, once you are happy you can go ahead and submit it for approval.

*Rising VR Company of the Year nominees must not have been incorporated prior to the 6th May 2017.

What awards can I nominate for?

Providing you are nominating a project that is beyond a concept phase, will be released by 1st July 2019 and has not been publicly released prior to 6th May 2018, you can nominate for the following categories:

  • VR Hardware of the Year
  • VR Game of the Year
  • VR Experience of the Year
  • VR Film of the Year
  • VR Marketing of the Year
  • Innovative VR Company of the Year
  • VR Social Impact Award
  • VR Enterprise Solution of the Year
  • VR Education and training of the Year
  • VR Healthcare of the Year
  • Out-of-Home VR Entertainment of the Year

Rising VR Company of the Year nominees must not have been incorporated prior to the 6th May 2017.

What details will I need to provide?

The nominations process is very straightforward. There are four main sections to your nomination: registrant details, project details, category details, additional materials.

You can save your nominations partway through and continue again within the nomination period.

Can I nominate on behalf of a client?

Yes. If you are an agency that has either created something on behalf of a client or manage their PR and marketing, you can nominate on their behalf (We do ask that you provide their company details as well).

My product or service has not been released yet, what should I do?

We accept any nominations, providing it is released by the 1st July 2019.

Your nomination still must be submitted to us by 7th May 2019. We only ask for the initial details to be submitted now to judge whether or not it is suitable for shortlisting.

What happens if I become a finalist?

You will be contacted by the VR Awards team prior to publication on the 18th June 2019, asking to confirm your position as a finalist for the VR Awards. At this point, additional information may be requested from you.

Finalist entrants must attempt to make themselves or someone on their behalf available to attend the VR Awards 2019 in person.

Is there any help or guidance I can receive?

Yes, we are hosting free advance briefing webinars for nominees to understand the criteria better and ask questions. Each webinar will include two case studies and presentations from previous finalists.


Is there a fee for nominating?

Entry Fee – £149 + VAT

You may enter as many categories as you like; however, each entry will be treated as a separate entry and the entry fee must be made for each category which you enter.

Your entry fee goes towards supporting our numerous not-for-profit endeavours, which include nurturing new talent, inspiring audiences and celebrating our industries innovation in VR, AR and immersive industries.

  • AIXR Members receive one free nomination
  • If you are a charity, please contact us and you will receive 50% off entry fees.

How is the VR Awards judged?

The VR Awards’ judging process is undertaken by some of the most respected and experienced experts in the virtual reality industry.

Every nomination will be judged by our specialist panel on a points-based system. Each nominee is able to progress within their chosen category and the award winner will be announced at the awards ceremony.

Can I nominate for more than one award?

Yes. You can nominate for more than one award.
